The six steps

The range runs in six sizes: Small, Medium, Large, X-Large, XX-Large and 3X-Large. Each jacket page prints the steps that exist in that colour as a row of links, and every step carries its own price. When a step is missing from the row, that colour is not made in it or it is out of stock in the current update.

They run close

Buyers writing about these jackets say the same thing often enough that we print it here: the cut is close, and the sleeve is cut narrow. If you plan to wear a fleece or a thick jumper underneath, take the size above the one you wear in a coat. If you want the fitted look and wear a base layer only, stay with your usual size.

What the weight tells you

Each page prints the weight of that exact size in pounds. It is the most useful number on the page after the size itself. A heavy coat is warm while you stand and tiring on a long walk. A light one is easy to carry and needs a layer under it when the wind gets up. Compare two jackets by weight before you compare them by photograph.

Cut and length

Hip length lands at the top of the thigh and sits well when you sit down. Long coats reach the mid-thigh or the knee, keep the wind off the back of the leg and get in the way on a bike. The cut is printed on every card and on every jacket page.

How to check before you order

Measure a coat you already own and like, flat, across the chest from armpit to armpit, then read the same measurement on the retail partner's size chart for the jacket you are considering. Photographs on a model tell you nothing about your shoulders. Two numbers do.
